Now that you are properly appalled and horrified, let me tell you why you need to know what Richard Gardner did. Richard Gardner was a psychiatrist who made up a junk science theory called the Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS). He made up this theory/syndrome about 20 years ago. He is long since dead as a result of him stabbing himself in the chest with a knife, but his legacy of irresponsible, despicable, predatory behavior lives on to torture thousands of children throughout our world via the court system.

Here is how Richard Gardner’s nifty system works. You already should have become acquainted with Gardner’s enthusiastic feelings about pedophilia and other abuse. I don’t believe that it is stretching a point too much to sum up his beliefs in the following statement. If a mother did not tell her child that fatherly abuse was wrong, the abused child would graciously accept all kinds of fatherly abuse (emotional, physical, or sexual) as a normal part of life. Heck, in Richard Gardner’s world, children would be grateful for abuse! The well trained abused child might walk around robotically saying things like, “Thank you for slamming me against the wall, sir.” (Please note: since most of the cases which use Richard Gardner’s defense are waged against the mother, I am going to write this article from the mother’s point of view. Obviously, Gardner’s theory could be used against a man, but, historically this has not occurred with as much frequency.)

So, imagine your father burned your hand with a lit cigarette everyday. Gardner believed if no one told you Daddy wasn’t allowed to use you as his human ashtray, you would just love Daddy to pieces unless someone tipped you off that the burning was hurting you. This theory assumes children have no feelings of pain, hurt, betrayal, anger, frustration or disgust because they simply just don’t know any better. The person who clues you in and tells you cigarette burns hurt is usually your mother in her brave effort to protect you. In Gardner’s eyes, mother is the only fiend in this scenario because she is interfering with your loving relationship with your daddy. Mother is, in fact, afflicted with Parental Alienation Syndrome because she told you that daddy has no right to burn you.

It is crystal clear Gardner believed children had no basic human rights and no Constitutional rights (as in the right to pursue happiness and freedom of speech) either. Gardner also apparently believed mothers are not entitled to their Constitutional right of freedom of speech because according to state law, she is not permitted to tell the child Daddy is not supposed to be burning him with the cigarette. I don’t understand how legally, state laws can override the basic rights guaranteed by the Constitution. But, I am not surprised at the legal squelching of speech when we all know abusers rely on secrecy and abusers thrive on stomping on the rights of others. From an abusers point of view, Parental Alienation Syndrome is a gem of a hypothesis!

Hopefully now you can somewhat grasp the meaning and danger of Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS). Here is the reason you need to know why this is important to you, your children and grandchildren. Gardner made his living by testifying in child custody cases. He was most often hired by fathers who had been accused of some kind of abuse; physical, emotional or sexual. Gardner applied the Parental Alienation Syndrome to the mother of the abused child and the abused child. In his version of abusive family life, father never did anything wrong, mother made it all up to turn the child against the father and the child is now emotionally damaged and requires extensive therapy to change his feelings towards the abusive father. Gardner repeated this diagnostic pattern time and time again regardless of each distinct case that he was employed to review. This would then allow the father’s attorney to turn the entire case around to make the mother be the defendant on trial while she was just trying to protect her children. The PAS worked (works) as a huge smokescreen enabling the abusive father to never be investigated at all. The father paid both his attorney and the counselor who both acted as defense attorneys for the father. Many mothers ended up (and still do end up) losing custody of their children permanently while the children were shipped off against their will to have to live with the abusive father.

In addition to separating the children from the mother, many times the PAS guidelines recommend attitudinal changes need to be made in the children. This attitudinal change is provided by your friendly, neighborhood psychologist and it is called Deprogramming Treatment or Reunification Therapy. Deprogramming Treatment and Reunification Therapy have been compared to the brainwashing used in prisoner of war camps. A psychologist can prescribe this treatment to take away the alienation caused by the mother. Please read the article called Experts Warn About Dangers of Deprogramming Treatment. And remember my friends, any psychologist who uses these methods has to be aware of their danger and has to be knowledgeable about the outcry against them. Also, may I interject, how many of us can state that we have ever met one child or one adult in our lives who we believed required brainwashing? Take my advice. If you are ever forced to darken the door of a psychologist, before hiring one, first ask the question, “What do you know about Parental Alienation Syndrome?” If you find out the psychologist is a believer and practitioner of PAS, run – for your child’s life.

Also, what kind of parent would pay for and permit a psychologist to engage in brainwashing of their child for no reason other than the child prefers to avoid that parent? Doesn’t it seem logical before a child should be subjected to this torment maybe someone should demand the parent be both physically and mentally examined by qualified professionals who are not being paid by the parent?

Why should you care about this? You need to care because if you ever find yourself, your children or grandchildren in a divorce and custody battle, you will find out PAS could be used against you even though it is not listed as a diagnosis in psychiatric textbooks. PAS is not a proven science. It was just an opinion of one man with truly offensive ideas about adult/child sexual relationships. When Gardner’s work on PAS was reviewed by other experts in the psychiatric field, they discovered Gardner did not perform formal research. This utterly fraudulent theory being used by psychologists and attorneys is just based on the degenerate theories of one man who clearly had an agenda to decriminalize child molesting. Thank goodness he never lived long enough to see his perverted lusts granted.

Maybe now is the time to interject where Gardner obtained his inspiration. It is highly probable Gardner was a follower of Alfred Kinsey, the man who is recognized as being the leader of the sexual revolution. Please stop here and find out the truth concerning Kinsey and his so-called scientific experiments which tragically changed the moral fabric of  the American family forever.

Kinsey paid sexual deviants to sexually abuse and torture babies and children while using stopwatches to time sexual events.  The deviants filled out forms and returned them to Kinsey.  Kinsey used this “research” to write his books on American sexuality.  Kinsey used his books to crusade across the American court system to effectively lobby to have punishments reduced for sex offenders.  Kinsey was a supporter of pedophilia.  Hugh Hefner, of Playboy Magazine,  is an outspoken supporter and follower of Kinsey.

Alienation is one of the major aspects of state divorce law and it doesn’t take much imagination to see the successful application of this theory is the stepping stone to legalizing pedophilia. There are at least nine states which, shamefully, have latched on to this theory. A few of those states are Kentucky, Indiana, Iowa, Florida and Nebraska. In some states, merely reporting the father as being abusive to the children is considered to be evidence the mother is afflicted with PAS. Yes, you read that right. You can see in many cases abused children and their mothers don’t stand a chance in court, despite the fact Gardner and PAS have both been denounced by other psychiatrists as a total sham against families. By using the court system, the parent with larger financial resources (usually the father) can persecute the mother until he gets what he wants or until the child becomes of legal age. Besides the unbearable anguish this causes the mother and children, it drains the mother of all of her finances.

Since PAS is so broad and vague in its scope, greedy, vile lawyers and psychologists apply the PAS label to describe any typical behavior a child might engage in. For example, if a child really doesn’t want to sit around and be forced to applaud while Daddy plays a three hour solo on his bongo drums, this is chalked up as PAS due to the mother. If an older teen naturally starts to break away from family dependence and wants to make his way in the world by getting a part-time job, learning to drive and pursuing relationships with his own friends and hobbies instead of hanging around with his father, this is automatically considered to be PAS due to the mother’s influence. There is no recognition whatsoever that teens universally begin to emotionally mature and detach from the family little by little in order to be able to separate and move on to have their own families. Your average teenager is not really dreaming of having their weekends taken over by a father, during which time the child has to intensely control their behavior and never react, no matter what the father may do.

Look at it this way. Have you ever had the blessing of having a nest of baby birds in a tree by your window? Mom sits on the nest diligently for weeks. The babies hatch. Mom and Dad work hard to keep the babies fed, warm and protected. But then, on a warm spring day there will come a time when the babies are so large they have to leave the nest. Mom sits in the tree and chirps encouraging signals to the unsteady babies to convince them to fly. By the end of the day, all of the babies are usually out of the nest. Sad to witness, but the bird population would not survive without these bittersweet moments. This is just how nature works. But, if Richard Gardner was in charge of all of the bird nests of the world, the mother bird would be hauled off to court and labeled with PAS. After all, the young birds would now be busy fending for their own life and would not be hanging around the old nest and their father anymore. Momma bird’s babies would be diagnosed as having been alienated against their father and said babies would need expensive, extensive, mind-altering counseling. Counseling, I might add that is totally unnecessary and truly must be psychologically damaging.

In the human realm, if after a divorce, a mother maintains custody of her children, she is later susceptible to having to answer endless accusations for any little thing the father finds objectionable. Any tone in a child’s voice, any little slight or any kind of offense taken by the father can be held against the mother, who is always being looked upon with suspicion. Any friendships a child has can be examined for PAS. For example, suppose your child has long standing friendships with other grown men and his father is jealous of these men. Well, the PAS can be used to try to claim these men are deliberately alienating the child from the father and the father can attempt to legally harass the men. After all, if the treatment for PAS involves isolating your child from all of the supportive figures in his life in order to perform the brainwashing, these adult friends are standing in the way of making the child feel completely defenseless, alone and without hope. The object of PAS treatment is to make the child feel his only friends are the psychologist being paid by the father and the father.

In PAS cases, any e-mail or correspondence the father has with the child is typically filtered through the father’s lawyer and the psychologist who is being paid by the father. Even though this e-mail and correspondence between father and child is being passed around and scrutinized for “signs of alienation” in a Gestapo type manner, no one asks the permission of the child or informs the child ahead of time his/her privacy is being violated. In my opinion, the fact that a father would take the e-mail from his children and allow paid strangers to read it is proof enough to question his integrity and the level of care and concern he has for his children. Children are often forced by the courts to correspond or e-mail with the father and then they have to watch every word or phrase they use since Daddy may take offense. And, may I be so bold to ask here, what ever happened to real men? What kinds of men are there today who are offended and hurt by any little thing someone says? Constantly talking of having your feelings hurt and being offended is what a person normally expects to hear from a teenage girl when she is talking to her boyfriend. You don’t expect to hear that kind of language from grown men.

Unless, of course, the whining comes from actor and aspiring politician, Alec Baldwin who has used Richard Gardner’s PAS theory in his efforts to gain more access to his daughter. In case you don’t know, Baldwin is famous for calling his 11-year-old daughter a “rude, thoughtless, little pig” when she neglected to answer the phone during a pre-arranged phone call. Baldwin also threatened the girl in this message. Baldwin has high hopes of gaining political office. In order to justify his outrageous behavior, he is writing a book on parental alienation and more than likely will be referring to Richard Gardner as his source of expert information and will try to use this book to exonerate his behavior so he can be elected. If you have a family and care anything at all about children, aren’t you concerned about the kind of laws that he would support?

PAS is similar to another fraudulent theory called the Rind Study. The Rind Study was made up by three men who had an agenda to push the legalization of child-adult sex. The Rind Study was published in 1998 and among other disturbing ideas it claimed “child sexual abuse does not cause intense harm on a pervasive basis.” The Rind Study was used in child custody cases in order to downplay the long lasting effects of child abuse. It was considered to be so outrageous and harmful it was publicly denounced by Congress. This is exactly what needs to happen to PAS.

And, this article woul not be complete without mentioning Dr. Ralph Underwager and the work he did to gain legal protection for abusers of children.  Underwager was a psychologist who spent his career defending people accused of child abuse.  He started a lobby group called VOCAL.  VOCAL was able to successfully restrict the definition of physical abuse to missing teeth, serious brain damage or broken bones.  How can any attorney or judge or doctor say this with a straight face?

Kinsey’s work, Underwager’s efforts, the Rind Study and PAS are just some of the legal methods unethical child protective service people all over the world are using to put children in harm’s way and remove them from safe, loving homes for no valid reason. Take for example the recent case a couple of weeks ago in Edinburgh, Scotland where two young children were confiscated from a lovely life with their grandparents because the court deemed the grandparents “too old” to parent. The grandparents were 59 and 46 years old and were caring for their grandchildren because their daughter (the mother) was a heroin addict. Child protective services swooped in and ended up placing the children in a home with two adult men. Please read the article and become aware of what is happening in the child legal system all over the world.

And, because the United States seems to be on a destructive path to following the sweeping law changes happening overseas, please read the Times Online article entitled “Parents told: avoid morality in sex lessons.” This article details how the British government is distributing pamphlets to parents encouraging them to keep values out of the sex education they teach to their children. Ask yourself who benefits when the younger generation is raised to believe “anything goes” in the world of sex? Children need to be taught to protect their bodies from others who merely want to use them for momentary sexual gratification which can easily lead to a lifetime of harsh mental and physical consequences.

What can you do about this frightening, disgraceful trend in the justice system? First of all, please spend some time on-line researching Richard Gardner and PAS. On the way, you will probably discover Children Against Court Appointed Abuse (CA3). CA3 is an organization founded by adult children who suffered court appointed child abuse. Their symbol is a black and blue ribbon. Some of these adult children are now filing lawsuits against the people who legally put them in harm’s way. May we all wish them God-speed in their legal battles.

Next, please e-mail or phone your representatives and governor. Do you think your words won’t count? Think again. Please realize as a taxpayer and a voter your voice still does matter and will be heard. You do not need to be eloquent in your speech. Just write plainly and politely. You can easily contact the governor or any representative within seconds on the internet. Please take the time and be brave. I have been contacting representatives and companies for years and know my input has made a difference. So far, nothing bad has happened to me. We must all act with moral courage for the greater good. And, please send other concerned voters the link to this blog in order for more people to realize what is really happening in the American (and world) justice system.

Also, tell your pastor or priest, your teachers and school principals and your pediatricians about Richard Gardner and PAS. And, most importantly write down the name of Richard Gardner and PAS in case you or a friend or a family member becomes the next person to be victimized by the sick ideas of one disturbed man. Attorneys and psychologists like to pretend they don’t know this vast amount of information exists which debunks the application of the appalling PAS because if PAS were officially discredited, how could attorneys and psychologists command such high salaries to destroy American families?

Additionally, please acquaint yourself with Frank Kameny by using the internet. The Smithsonian considers him to be an American hero and his Washington, D.C. home is being made into a national landmark. Guess what he did? He was one of the most important activists who forced the American Psychiatric Association to reclassify homosexuality as normal behavior and he fights for the hardest core pornography to be legalized. Now, he is pushing to have human/animal sex to be a constitutionally protected inalienable right. He believes that as long as an animal does not object, humans should be able to engage in bestiality. Imagine if this becomes law and your next door neighbor becomes fond of your dog. Please read the article, “Pro-family crusader looks to PETA to take a stand against bestiality promoter.” As you acquaint yourself with the cast of characters who are trying to make perversion normal, do you get the feeling children and families are under serious attack? Please keep reading.

So far, a lot of the fighting for children’s rights has been left to the victims of PAS. But now, when their voices are starting to be heard, I ask you please, to join with them and take some time to object to the outrageous injustice of PAS. If you think individual family court cases are isolated and don’t represent a frightening trend in American moral law, please read the article entitled “Supreme Court allows anti-porn law to die.”  And, ask yourself, why is it President Obama has appointed a man with a notorious career defending hardcore pornographers to be the second in command in the federal Justice Department? This man’s name is David Ogden and he has fought for a “constitutional right to access pornography at public libraries.” David Ogden is a well-known porn lawyer and an attorney for Playboy magazine. His additional clients include child porn makers and he has won cases for them defending their right to make child pornography. If President Obama wants to appoint Ogden to this extremely important position, what does this say about the future direction President Obama plans to take our legal system? And, logically, who do you think is producing a lot of child pornography? It stands to reason that plenty of it has to come from bizarre parents who are filming their children. Who else would have ample access to children and have the privacy to make such films and pictures?

Please don’t delay. Research this information yourself and then take action. Contact our government officials and stop this evil trend of children and families losing rights by the second. Please demand Parental Alienation Syndrome be publicly denounced by all state court systems and by Congress before even more legal rights are gained by people who really just want to hurt children. And, if you know a woman who is trapped in the court system doing battle against PAS, tell her to ask her attorney why defense lawyers do not bring up all of the information against PAS in court? After all, what are lawyers getting paid for anyway?

There is a movement alive and growing in America today.  It is a movement to reduce America to the status of a third world country.  If catastrophic plans are not stopped, America will be seeing water shortages, energy shortages, food shortages and grave financial problems.  In addition, there are organized efforts to take away the laws which protect children.  These laws do not exist or at least are not enforced in third world countries where poor children openly work as prostitutes on the streets.   We all need to band together to keep children protected in America and all over the world.  Stopping PAS dead in its tracks is the first step in that direction.
